Disclosure: Ad. The Alida nubuk boots are a sample of my choice from Coolway. The post is not endorsed by them. I wrote it entirely myself and it represents my own 100% honest opinion. This post has affiliate links.
It’s ok to love your shoes
Like every woman, I love shoes, or more precisely, I love cool, unique looking high quality leather shoes. When Coolway offered me to review a pair of my choice from their fall/winter collection, I didn’t hesitate a minute. When you are a regular reader you know that I love their footwear. I wore two pair of sandals from them all summer long. In case you missed it, here are the links to the Mousse and Cloud black wood sole strappy sandals and the brown clog sandals review.
When you are new here, Coolway is a Spanish footwear and accessories brand that is a third generation family owned business. Their focus on high quality products, great craftsmanship, unique designs, and affordability that responds well to women of any age. It's ok to love your shoes. #coolway #shoelove Click To Tweet
Their collection encompasses cool, trendy, high quality leather footwear that ups the hip factor not only a couple of points. Their designs have great details like the double buckles of these Alida nubuk boots that I chose to review. You know, I love details around my ankles.
Sizing and comfort
These Alida nubuk boots from coolway are an European size 38, US size 8. They have a great fit even when I double the socks at -20F (-28.9oC). They don’t squeeze my toes, which is important to not get cold feet. The thick sole has a great profile which gives perfect traction on snow and ice. Despite the sole is thick the booties are not heavy. The thick sole also well insulates from the ground. That means when waiting for the bus for 10 minutes or so in mid-latitude winter you will stay in thermal comfort. The low, about 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) heel is high enough to look stylish, but low enough to be comfortable. The boots have a side zipper which makes it easy to put them on and take them off.
Design of the nubuk booties
I like the double buckles and the asymmetric wrap style. It gives these Alida booties a Rock’n Roll vibe without going over the top. The nubuk leather is an evergreen classic. Thus, these booties work also for us women over 40.
How I styled my nubuk booties
In the outfits shown in this post, I went for an eclectic street style look and a casual fun winter look. In the mature street style look with a sequin skirt and Fair Isle sweater, the Coolway booties styled with socks add to the eclectic fun factor. In the posh casual winter look, they dress up the outfit by adding an edge.
These Coolway Alida nubuk boots cost $119.95. To my experience nubuk has very long durability. It even looks great (or even better) once it gets some scratches from wear and tear. Thus, I expect to wear them for more than two cold seasons. Even when wearing them only twice per week over six months means more than 100 times. These boots also can be styled for outdoor concerts in summer. Thus, the price-per-wear will go below a dollar over time. I definitively would buy them.
I give these Alida nubuk boots from Coolway both thumbs up and would recommend them to my BFF any time.
