What is the 7 days skirt challenge?

This challenge by Gail Hanlon of Is this Mutton is about wearing skirts seven days in a row. No matter what the weather has in the mix.

Rain or sunshine, hot or cold, you wear a skirt.

Some bloggers participate via their blog posts, others on Instagram. Some do both. Readers can participate on IG and post their skirt outfits and tag them #7DaySkirtChallenge. If you want me to see and comment on your post add @highlatitudestyle. Doing so will trigger a notification and I can visit your post. You can also link your posts to the linkup party at the end of this post. Let’s see what I wore.

Layered Look: Hounds Tooth skirt with jean jacket

The first outfit features a non-boring all neutrals look. In this LOTD, the layering is the key statement. The occasion? Dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I ate chile relenos.

Orange plaid pencil with utility jacket

This plaid pencil skirt with assymetric hem is one of my fall wardrobe additions. I took the colors of the plaid as inspiration to add the suede utility jacket and olive top. Olive is the new black!

Or was it orange is the new black?

Anyhow. The occasion? Work lunch with a colleague.

Flare Skirt

Dance class asked for something twirlling. After class, I had to run errands. It was cold and windy. Thus, a thick coat was required. I went for a monochromatic fall outfit in burgundy with some pops of colors in brown. It was the first time wearing booties in this cold season.

Purple American Classic

This look is an American Classic styling recipe – read sweater, scarf, straight skirt, tights and shoes. I gave it a twist by choosing camouflage booties. Occasion: Friday after work having drinks with a colleague.

Outside I wore my loden coat that makes a nice outerwear look styled with the booties and purple legwear. Outerwear has to be styled too. Read more about styling outerwear.

Stylist tip: Purple and olive are a great color combination.

The seventh day, I recycled this look without the scarf and tall black boots.
