How to change the look of an outfit with just a few tweaks

The shoes make or break an outfit. #fashionquote Click To Tweet

There are many reasons why to accessorize with scarves. Sure, style is one of them. As a matter of fact you cannot only up your style with scarves, but also change the vibe completely. Today I want to show you how a scarf and a different pair of shoes can change an outfit from feminine classic with at twist to posh casual.

Floral scarf and studded heels give a sheath a feminine classic look with a twist

In the below photos, I styled the basic outfit of sheath with sweater and tight with a light floral Russian scarf and edgy heels. The outfit has a classic with a twist vibe. The light colors make the outfit sort of sweet.

Same basics, different footwear and scarf for a posh casual look

In the look below, I paired the same basic outfit with a dark Indian scarf with geometric print and matching duck boots. The more casual fabric of the scarf, the ducks and the dark colors yield a classic outfit with a casual twist.

Like the idea of Wear it now – Wear it later, to increase the number of outfits from your closet, you can use accessories to get more looks from your closet. Other great options to alter an outfit are to accessorize with belts or jewelry. Since one keeps most accessories like scarves, belts and costume jewelry for much longer time than your typical wardrobe basics or even the trends, be very picky when investing in accessories. You want the right accessories for great style.

Which of the two outfits is your favorite? Do you sometimes style the basic outfit in different ways? Just curious.
