Olivia + Joy have a holiday collection
Today I want to introduce you to Olivia + Joy. This brand’s mission is to offer fashion savvy women of any age fashion forward bags for any occasion at an affordable price. Their collection encompasses handbags and accessories for various styles from Bohemian, over girly, edgy, to professional, corporate style all with a trendy twist.
When Olivia + Joy contacted me for a review, I didn’t hesitate a moment to have a look at their collection. You know that I really love bags <3. They have a variety of types of bags from totes to mini bags. What immediately caught my eye was their classic with a twist two handle hand bags and clutches. Thus, I picked the Emma Satchel in turquoise and the Amber Convertible Cross-body Minibag/Clutch in brown from their Holiday Collection for review as they fit my style and taste. The former comes also in black and pink, the latter comes also in black. I picked turquoise and brown as I wanted the stand-out statement colors.
When you are on a budget, two bags in one are a solution
The clutch is very classic with a snake imprint and a chain handle that is large enough to comfortably have the clutch hanging down on the wrist while holding a plate at a buffet. Thus, perfect for the upcoming holiday season. The neutral colors permit to wear it at any festivity from holidays, to the opera, theater, date night out, and weddings with all kind of dress codes. The zipper detail makes this bag so me. It is just the right amount of edge for a classic with a twist. The clutch also can be worn as a cross-body mini bag as it comes with a detachable strap. As such, it can be styled with jeans, T-shirt/sweater and a cardigan for a casual polished weekend look. I wish I had found such a bag when I was in college – it is sort of a two-bag-in-one.
A bright bag is a perfect pop of color in winter
The second bag was a winner because of its classic doctor bag style and bright color. This pop of color is great to stand out in the crowd of gray, brown, navy and black winter coats when wearing a coat in one of these colors (see photo above). The classic well-known doctor bag silhouette permits the bright statement color without looking over the top. A balance well done. This bag is also available in colors that suit even the corporate style color palette.
Olivia + Joy has professionally looking vegan work bags
The bag is large enough to hold my pair of pumps that I use to schlep inside my purse in winter to switch shoes at the office. The Emma satchel as this bag is called has crocodile imprint handles and decorations. The front has a pocket that is closes with a zipper. The zipper has a lock-like charm with a twist closure. Another decorative detail are the four screws that seem to secure the zipper. The fact that the end of the main compartment zipper can be closed with a push-button is another high-end looking detail.
The Olivia + Joy satchel keeps you organized
Now to details that only the owner knows, but that are equally important for a bag to be a favorite. The material of the body of the satchel is soft like leather while the crocodile details are stiff enough to provide the frame. The inside of both bags has a lining with an Olivia + Joy print. Both bags have a compartment for a cellphone and one for keys. They also both have a zip-pocket that is large enough to hold a passport. Both bags also have flat pocket on the back that is accessible without having to open the main compartment of the bag. This feature is genius as one often has to slip in a metro ticket, or boarding pass. Unless the owner overloads this pocket it stay invisible.
These two bags are very affordable, but have high quality. Olivia + Joy has a Holiday Sale with 40% off between November 20 and December 1, 2014 with the code HOLIDAY40
Have you already gifts for all your loved ones? If not, what about a pleather bag for the animal lovers of your family?
Disclosure: The bags are samples that I received from Olivia + Joy for review. The review is not endorsed by them. I wrote it entirely myself and reflects my own honest opinion.
