A hat can up your style
I have a knack for hats since my childhood. To be more precise I still remember the red Tirolean hat with white feather that I had when I was a toddler. I loved wearing it! Thus, when Tenth Street Hats asked me whether I would like to review a hat of their new fall collection, I got really excited. I already have hats from them and they are all great quality, super chic, and can really pull an outfit from great to excellent. In case you missed it, here are the links to the post about the Shire Scala straw statement piece and the Vienna for your convenience. Well, and hats are a big trend this fall. Another reason to be excited. You can't go wrong when you update your wardrobe with a hat this fall. Click To Tweet
Why I picked the Kathmandu
Their new fall collection is incredibly awesome! Hard to pick just one! I chose the Kathmandu designed by Carlos Santana. Brown and blue together are so modern. This hat looks so interesting with its wool felt top, satin band, little winged woman detail on the bow, and 1 ¾” (about 4.45 cm) leather braid brim combination. Absolutely hip, but classic at the same time. In plain English, timeless!
Menswear with a feminine touch
My husband told me that a package for High Latitude Style had arrived. He had put it onto the top of the cat tree. Our 17 year old lady can’t reach the top anymore. But like all cats, no matter of size and age, she likes empty boxes. Thus, her tree is my favorite “unboxing” place. She likes to play with the boxes and causing a great mess with the “filling paper.” Guess who immediately arrived underneath the tree when hearing the characteristic noise of scissors cutting thru closing tape. 😉
The slight, beautiful sent of new leather came out when I opened the package. I probably was as excited as the cat. When I first held the piece in my hands, I was very impressed by the great craftsmanship. The braiding of the leather brim is so fine and elegant. I was astonished that one can cut leather that thin! This fedora is the perfect pairing of menswear with feminine elements. I had to immediately put it on and run for the mirror. Before I even reached the mirror, my husband already said “Wow, what a stunning hat!”
A timeless wardrobe update along this fall’s trend
The Kathmandu is perfect for this fall’s hat trend. The combination of navy blue and brown permits to wear it with a variety of colors. Obviously, navy and brown. Other great pairings are the eternal classics, namely tan, beige, winter white, burgundy, and blush or rose pink. This fall’s It neutrals, Sargasso Sea, Tofu, Almond Buff, and Meerkat are perfect canvas for this statement head gear too. You like to make an entrance? Go wild with this autumn’s Pantome fashion colors Red Pear, Valiant Poppy, Ceylon Yellow, Russet Orange, Ultra Violet, Crocus Petal, or Nebulas Blue combined with this statement head topper.
It’s versatile to style
See how I wore this beauty since its arrival. Stay tuned for more looks to come.
What I also love about the hat
I really like suede sweat band inside. It keeps the fedora well in place when you bend down to pet your pet when walking your four-legged family member.
Excellent price-performance ratio
Currently, Tenth Street Hats has this Santana designed hat on sale for just $65! It’s usual price is $120. Even at that price, it is worth every cent! On sale, it’s a bargain!
Why? It’s a timeless classic with a twist. So you can wear it for years to come without looking “old-fashioned” or conservative. Over time, this beauty will get easily under a dollar per wear. That’s my criterion for a great price-performance ratio in favor of the customer. Thumbs up!
Free shipping over $70, free return
When you are a regular reader you know that free shipping is important to me. They offer free shipping on all purchases over $70. Given how expensive shipping to Alaska can be, order two or pair with your friend for shipping to get over $70 to save.
Worried about fit? No need to! They also have free return. However, many of their head gear is one-fits-most with an adjustable inner band. They also add a set of foam fitters to adjust the hat if needed. So you probably never feel the need to return an item.
Who would love this Santana wool felt dress fedora?
It’s a Must-have for every fashionista who is a hat-person or loves menswear with a clearly feminine touch. It’s also a great investment piece for all women who love classic pieces with a twist. The Kathmandu hat works with Bohemian style, American Classic, Euro Chic, Urban style, as well as casual style. I definitively would recommend it to my best female friends. You can buy this Kathmandu wool felt dress fedora hat at Tenth Street Hats.
In a nutshell
This classic with a twist wool felt fedora has a leather braided brim, elegant satin band, timeless style, and is easy to combine with both neutrals and fashion colors (see the two example outfits). Its versatility makes it a perfect trendy update of this fall/winter wardrobe.
