When people of the Interior start complaining about cold weather
This cold snap is lasting way too long. People start complaining about all kind of things. The thing you hear most often is that they are sick of excercising inside. Usually, many Fairbanksans enjoy the UAF’s campus cross-country ski trails. They do downhil sking at Birch Hill or farther down the Steese Highway. Even dog mushing is no fun when temperatures drop below -30F (-34.4oC).
Those people who have a dog to be forced to walk their pet even complain. Which dog wants to take a walk at those temperature. Go out, pup, pee, back in, that’s what the dogs do, unless they are Siberian huskies or a mixed dog-wolf breed.
A friend of mine told me this week that she was so sick of the long lasting cold. She had a work assignment down in Anchorage, where the temperatures weren’t that low, but it was wet and windy. She said, she felt even worse than with the cold up in the Interior and was so happy when she was back despite the cold is now in the 5th week.
What I wore
I used my favorite colors to up my mood. Pink and black. And my favorite materials, cashmere and leather. Full disclosure: Silk underwear.

Thanks for the opportunity to co-host!
And I love the pink and black together. Pink usually looks hideous on me, so I gave to love vicariously through others outfits that incorporate pink. The pink shoes are fabulous!

It was fun to see my face featured! Thanks for hosting the link up, Nicole. I always enjoy seeing what you wear as you have to deal with a very different type of environment than us in the south of the US. Btw, you have a little typo with my name (maybe because you were typing Michelle for the above feature). First name is Mireille so blog is Chez Mireille =)
Pretty pink. I have made a list of bright colors I want to add to my closet this year as I have less than others. Just makes a person smile when you see color!
Pink and black, leather and cashmere! Such great combinations. And I laughed out loud at your full disclosure! I love that Michelle is co-hosting with you! I must go check out her post now, too. Stay warm!
