The athleisure trend as well as Norm Core are in fashion right now. This means wearing an Adidas jacket, for instance, is a Do. Read and see how you can jump the bandwagon. If I can do it, you can do it too.

Never Go Shopping When You Are Hungry

There is this saying that one should eat before going shopping for groceries. Doing so, would avoid that you buy too much food. But what about clothing? Is there a rule to avoid buying something one doesn’t need?

Anyhow, when I saw this pink Adidas jacket at Fred Meyers a couple of years ago, I was attracted by its bold color. To be precise, I bought it because I loved the color despite I don’t need a track jacket. I am not a runner and don’t jog outside. You know, for my money, the great outdoors is the space between buildings. And yes, even at 40 below zero I wear a bikini rather than run (to stay warm). So why would I need this jacket? So to speak I committed an effect purchase at the grocery store! Is that gross?

Styling a Pink Adidas Track Jacket Beyond the Gym

My idea was to wear the jacket in posh combinations with a skirt or a dress sort of as an alternative Casual Friday outfit. The plan worked well. Ever since I gave this piece a place in my closet, I always wore it instead of a cardigan or blazer.

As you know, my rule for adding a piece to my closet is that I have to have at least three new looks with the new item in mind. In fall, I use it to create summer-to-fall transitional look with a floral dress from summer. Many of my summer clothes have pink hues like this sheath/ The abstract flowers have all kind of hues and shades between white and red. Thus, adding a pink jacket is a no-brainier.

This look of the day is trendy on another burner too. It combines the mixing prints and the snake print trend in one outfit. The look is grounded by the tights that repeat the black stripes of the jacket, the background color of the dress and the accents of the snake print. The snakeskin fall sandals pick up the gray accents of the floral print of the dress, which ties the look together. You can find more on how to style snake print outfits in the post at the link.

How to Style an Adidas Jacket California Casual Way

In the outfit, I wanted to get the tension of tough and delicate. Thus, I paired the jacket with my lace skirt. For a top, I rioted my hubby’s closet for a rip-knit tank shirt. I was lucky to find one that had a great fit on me.

To stay with the sort of California Casual style vibe I added my black wood plateau sandals. They are delicate with respect to the strappy leather bands, but tough with respect to the wood plateau sole and heels. Thus, perfect to tie the look together. For an ultimate guide on styling athleisure see the post at the link.

To finish the outfit I added a belt, a messy up-do, and I added a wood watch. More on how to best accessorize with belts in the guide at the link.  I made the up-do, as if I just came from a run on the beach. The wood watch just looks so good and unique and it repeats the wood of the sandals.

Closing Remarks on Wearing an Adidas Jacket

A high quality athleisure piece can be incorporated into your everyday and even work outfit. The latter, of course, only applies when your office has a Casual Friday culture. See the post at the link for an athleisure styling guide.

Incorporating you active wear into your everyday wardrobe is also a great method to slow down fashion by getting more outfits from your wardrobe.

Do sometimes buy clothing you don’t need just because you like something about them? Just curious, let me know in the comments.

I like the look with the red jacket, Nicol. It would be pity to use this jacket only like sportswear.

I love the colour of the jacket and you’ve shown it in a versatile way, although I don’t wear the sporty style. Good choice and styling! Thank you for holding the linkup, Nicole!

  9. This really does work, I love that it picks up some of the pinks in the dress and those snakeskin booties work as a neutral and just pair nicely together with it. I love that you’re wearing the pink Adidas jacket instead of something we’d typically grab such as a cardi or sweater. It really works!
