Granny Didn’t Like Wedges
As a child, when we would visit my grandparents’, I liked to sit in the small kitchen of my grandma when she was preparing Sunday’s lunch. We talked about all kinds of stuff from science over history to fashion. Granny Hannah and I were talking about shoes one day. She was in her early seventies at that time, and her favorite shoes were pumps of the type Queen Elizabeth II wears today when she has to represent. After talking about what a nice shoe would be for her, my granny said the shoe trend she never liked were wedges.
At that time, I had a pair of wedges. I really loved them as they are the most comfortable heels in my opinion. … and of course, I thought they looked great and chic. Therefore, I asked her why she did not like wedges. Her answer was very surprising to me. “They look like horse hoofs!”
I didn’t say anything, but made sure that I would not wear my “horse hoofs” when we were visiting my grandparents. However, I am still in love with wedges. Do you think wedges look like horse hoofs? Did you have fashion talks with your granny?
Cute Outfit Ideas with Wedges
Wedge heels are so much easier to walk on than heels. Espadrille wedge sandals look great shoes when you dress for brunch because they are the most comfortable heels to stand in. They are also perfect with summer dresses. That’s why they are a Go-To for any resort style and should be on any vacation packing list.

As Kate Middleton showed on the day before her wedding, you can wear closed toe versions of this style in patent leather even with a classic (work-style) dress like in the photos. Cute outfits to wear with wedges are skinny jeans. Fancy wedges can be paired with formal cocktail dresses for an afternoon wedding that takes place on a lawn.
Wedge booties look great in winter. More on styling outerwear.

How I Wear Wedges at Work
For the look of the day, I wore one of my pair of wedges with my striped sheath dress, a neon color statement necklace, and a black cardigan. As now I do not have to carry my pumps back and forth to work I can use my small bags again. What am I saying? As a regular reader you know already know that to wear over-the-knee boots right I swap into pumps at work to avoid getting wet feet from sweating.
