How to Wear a Prom Dress at Day (Ever Pretty Dresses Review)

Why I Wanted to Try these Dresses

Pre-COVID, there were special occasions like balls, Valentine’s Dinner Specials, scholarship fundraisers, weddings, wedding receptions, donor receptions, cocktail parties, dance parties, high school proms, social dances, christenings, fashion shops, promotional dinners, office Christmas parties at a hotel, … you name it. These were all occasions to don semi-formal or even formal dresses. They gave us the Cinderella feeling. After missing out all these uplifting events, I was like

Woman, you want to dress up. You dress for yourself to feel and look great. What the heck, when you want to wear a glamorous dress, just do it. It’s your life, live it to the fullest.

Dresses are a whole outfit. But you can accessorize them in many unique ways. I can find ways to wear a prom dress at day any time. Or as my niece would say

Therefore, I picked the cream Midi Lace Party Dress and a black, sleek, modest velvet maxi dress with elbow-long sleeves.

How to Wear a Prom Dress at Day?

When I opened the opened the package, I was impressed by the quality of the dresses. At the really affordable price, I had expected some flat (read cheap) lace. But the lace has beautiful 3D-texture. When I first held the white beauty in my hands I was like

This dress is a chameleon.

Sure, it will look stylish with gloves, especially in satin and opera length, as a bride dress. However, it also works as summer dress, for going out, with a cardigan at work, and of course as a bride’s dress. Add a fancy hat and a bolero jacket, and a Southern Belle is ready for church. Add a flower headband, combat boots and it is an outfit you can what you can wear for an outdoor concert or Woodstock Revival.

Next I opened the plastic bag of the Lace Bodice Velvet Evening Dress. The beautiful see-thru has embroidery and small black sequins. They are nicely sewn on, overlapping like the scales of a Regal Angelfish.

Tip: When you buy a piece with sequins, make sure the sequins are small and overlap to not look cheap.

My honest reaction was these dresses look way more more expensive than they are! It was definitely worth trying out Ever Pretty dresses. Can you believe that the white one is just $40.99 and the black high waist velvet straight evening dress with lace bodice is just $64.99!

Read the Size Chart for Best Fit

I am usually a US size 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. Therefore, I always order my dresses in a size 4 to fit my shoulders. As you see, it’s a perfect fit. Typically, the skirt part is a bit loose and I take it in. This work wasn’t needed for both garments.

Because I didn’t know whether it is me, just a random accidentally running smaller sample, I did some research. Obviously, the  brand’s attire runs on the smaller side, but measures of the pieces (when taken flat) are in the ballpark of the numbers in the size chart. Therefore, I recommend that you take your measures and compare with the size chart for best fit. I have made doing so a habit.

Scientist tip: When a size chart gives the measures in both centimeter and inches always measure in centimeter. These measurements are more precise due to the finer increment.

Also, when you are full breasted, make sure to check the breast measurements. I am a bra size 34A (75A for my European readers). The dress fits well in the chest.
