Interior Alaska summers smell like an open fire place
Since Sunday morning, it smells like Interior Alaska summer, i.e. like fire smoke. I always hope it will not get as bad again as in 2004. The smoke was so thick you could not even see 200 yards (~183 m). The sun was blood red because of all the smoke particles in the air.
Despite the smell is not that bad yet, and the sun is just slightly salmon pink, it is enough to make some people have headaches and feeling dizzy. Everyone – o.k., nearly everyone except those making a living as a firefighter, can well live with a summer without the typical smell as long as it does not mean it just rains cats and dogs like last year. 😉 O.k., I don’t mind the cats, but there are already more dogs than humans in Alaska.
Top of the World Style linkup-party ettiquette
Thanks for linking up last week and checking out your fellow bloggers’ OOTD. The OOTD you clicked the most was by Nora from the Jacket Society. She is really a Jacket Queen. My favorite OOTD was by Carrie from A Lovely Little Wardrobe. The combination of a long sleeve denim shirt with gingham shorts is so unexpected, but looks incredibly good. However, I could not pull an outfit similar to hers off in Interior Alaska. Here, long sleeves with shorts worn on a summer day are reserved for the tourists. 🙁
Now let’s party. Everyone of any age and gender is welcome to share their fashion and style posts. Please spread the word and invite your friends to this party and stop by your linkup-fellows’ blogs (your clicks determine the next Top of the World OOTD Readers’ Fav), introduce yourself to them, and make new friends.
