Are you looking for books to read by the pool this summer? My next book will be published soon. This story is about a couple’s dangerous adventures and funny situations after immigrating to Alaska as they adapt to the harsh, unfamiliar, and unknown life conditions.

What to Expect

This Alaskan story describes the struggle of a couple who immigrated from Germany to the 49th State of the US. False perceptions, wrong assumptions, and behaviors stemming from different cultural upbringings lead to funny situations, sometimes dangerous ones, and adventures.

Read what the couple had to relearn to shop, and how they adapted to the harsh, frigid cold winters with temperatures below -40F (-40C), the summer days without darkness, and long winter darkness.

Learn about their issues with frost, septic systems, wells, wildlife, floods, wildfires, health care, earthquakes, and a vulnerable food chain. As the couple gradually adopts the Alaska way of life, funny events keep happening as they deal with visitors and people from out of State.

Photos of the author’s paintings feature landscapes, events, social life, permafrost damage, earthquake damage, and the wildlife of the Last Frontier. Join this hilarious, educational, and entertaining journey from Cheechako (Greenhorn) to Sourdough of Coming to Alaska.
