Athleisure is a big trend right now. Or may be it’s even on the edge to become a mainstream classic? Who knows? Anyhow this post addresses how to create a posh look using an Adidas jacket as an example.

How to Style an Adidas Jacket
I love the color of the jacket. When I saw it, I had to have it. It called my name so to say. I bought it with the intent to wear it as a cover-up with my other clothes. My sport – ballroom dancing – does not require a jacket like this one.
In the outfit, I wanted to get the tension of tough and delicate. Thus, I paired the jacket with my lace skirt. For a top, I rioted my hubby’s closet for a rip-knit tank shirt. I was lucky to find one that had a great fit on me.
To stay with the sort of California Casual vibe I added my black wood plateau sandals. They are delicate with respect to the strappy leather bands, but tough with respect to the wood plateau sole and heels. Thus, perfect to tie the look together. For an ultimate guide on styling athleisure see the post at the link.
Finishing Styling Touches
To finish the outfit I added a belt. I had made this asymmetric belt myself in a recreational class in college in the late 1980s. I used a piece of leather sole and a small stripe of pony hair brown leather to hold the silver closure. The closure plate is embellished with little dots that I bored into the plate. Over the years, the pony-hair holding stripe lost some of the hairs. This distress from wear makes the belt even more interesting than it was when I had finished the project back in college. More on how to best accessorize with belts in the guide at the link.
As last finishing touch, I went for a messy up-do, as if I just came from a run on the beach, and I added a wood watch. The wood watch just looks so good and unique and it repeats the wood of the sandals.
67th Top of the World Style Linkup-party
Welcome to the 67th Top of the World Style fashion linkup party. Thanks to all you stylish ladies who linked up last week. Your lovely outfits were so exciting and inspiring.
The Top of the World OOTD Readers’ Fav was Cat. You clicked her post the most. She is the instragramer – is that a word (?) – at Cat in Amsterdam. I loved her caption “Shhhh, if you listen closely, you can still hear this dress calling my name.” There are often items that call my name too, for instance the jacket in today’s post. 😉 I guess every fashionista and fashionister has made that experience.
Terri at Meadow Tree caught my attention with her colorful maxi dress. She became Top of the World OOTD My Fav. I wonder whether there is one color on Earth missing in the pattern of this beautiful dress.
