Cheap Trendy Must-Haves for Going Out

Review of Femme Luxe cheap must-haves for going out. Read what I (dis)like, and what I think about the fit, price-performance ratio, and quality.

Cheap Must-Haves for Going Out

When you are in the work force, and want to go out immediately after work, you pack your sexy sandals, clutch, makeup, and accessories in your work bag. After EoB, a quick enhancement of the makeup, swapping shoes and accessories gets you from work to a night on the town. Unfortunately, HR-approved clothing is usually not particularly comfortable. Staying within the dress-code limits also means the ad hoc going-out looks are low key on the sex appeal site.

Once you retire, however, you can have more choices than dressing-up your work pencil skirt with shirt or your LBD. These choices include the also the degree of comfort, and sex appeal. Therefore, I picked three trendy body-conscious knit dresses, and a cardigan for review from Femme Luxe as clothes for going out.

I was curious whether one could create comfortable, but sexy going-out outfits, without looking sloppy or going over the top. Take a look at the outfit inspirations. The photos illustrate that the midi dresses and cardigan well solved the problem for me. 🙂 The mocha dress would also do the trick, if my thighs weren’t so thick.

What I Like/Dislike about the Products/Seller

While the pieces are cheap, they are worth their price or even more. In the time from spring to early fall, the cardigan will go below $1, which is my criterion for a great deal.  I love that the dresses have tight sleeves. As you know, I am not a fan of statement sleeves. The cardigan is thinner, and its knit is looser than I expected.

I like that the belt of the mocha dress permits to wear the dress two ways (see photo above). Knotted in the front, or knotted in the back. The former is great to distract from a midlife belly. The latter is great to add some oomph to your derrière, when you have a flat boom .

How I Styled the Dresses and Cardigan for Date Night

In late Alaska winter, boots and booties are great with the dresses. Long earrings and a belt are perfect accessories for the midi dresses. The buttons are golden, but as shown, you can wear the dresses with silver nevertheless. Mixing metals is a Do, and looks perfect, when at least one piece has mixed metals. In the going-out outfit idea in the photo above, it’s the watch, and my granny’s engagement ring.

For Whom Are the Dresses and Cardigan a Perfect Fit?

When you are looking for trendy wardrobe updates for going out, I can recommend recommend the midi dresses. They are modest with respect to coverage, but sexy. In midlife, showing less skin is more. I can recommend you the long cardigan as a cheap update for this summer’s wardrobe. Long cardigans are a big trend, and can do double-duty as a light summer coat. It’s also a great piece for the winter-to-spring and summer-to-fall transition. The mocha dress could be a fit for women with slim legs.
