Outfit Inspirations with Printed Summer Dresses
Summer is winding down. The trees are already turning yellow here in Interior Alaska. Can you believe that I already had to wear tights twice to feel comfortable? Temperatures are in the 50s (10oC) now during the day, and it is very, very humid. In other words, it rains. Brrrr. What’s even worse? The fog! Yesterday, there was fog when I drove to work! This means fall has arrived! Don’t get scared yet! I live at 64.8569N. Since you may have quite some nice summer days ahead, here some chic, ageless outfit inspirations with printed summer dresses. I hope you enjoy them.
Thus, it’s time to show you my last outfits of summer. So they can inspire you before fall reaches your latitudes. To be honest, this year fall seems a little early.
Well, let’s talk about something better – fashion. Here are my last outfits of this summer. I found this purple-red-white-black print dress at Sam’s Club and bought it because I loved its classic cut and the colors. I love cold bold, clean saturated color. I am a deep winter color type. What colors do you love?
This green dress was one of my favorites this summer. I wore it very often this summer. The Picasso inspired swirl print offers so many possibilities to combine it with other pieces. 😉
What was the piece that you wore most often this summer? Are you enjoying the last days of summer? Have you started already planning your fall wardrobe? Stay tuned, next week’s Ageless Style Series will address fall’s best and worst trends for women over 40. Tomorrow I will present the first outfit of fall.
Summer Clothes Don’t Get Much Wear in Interior Alaska
Here in Interior Alaska, summers are short. Moreover, August is the rainiest month of the year, i.e. our rain season so to speak. Rainy days cut the time for wearing summer dresses even shorter. Nevertheless, I had bought several new summer dresses at the beginning of summer. Since this year had a particularly rainy summer, you have only seen them a few of them because there were so few opportunities sunshine and temperature wise to wear them. You saw already the paisley print dress and floral leave print dress. In this post, I will show the other two summer dresses I bought for summer.
Polka dots are a classic
I always loved polka dots and as long as I can remember I always owned at least one item with polka dots. When I saw this burgundy polka dot dress I couldn’t resist. I had to have it because of its unique color combination and size of the dots. Most polka dot pieces I had owned in the past as well as those I already owned are the classic navy and white or black and white combination and have the classic pin top size.
Another summer dress, I had not yet the chance to show has the same cut, but a classic white dots on navy background. Do you see a pattern here? I tend to buy items of which I know they work for me. In this case, the cut and the pattern as well as the color combination. That’s how fashion turns into personal style. LOL. 😉
A thing I like about this cut is how nice the skirt twirls. Thus, I can get more wear out of the dress as it I can wear it for dancing year round.
Are you also sad that summer is over? Do you look for cuts that you know work for you? Do you love polka dots? Which is your favorite color combination for this classic print? What is your favorite summer print? How do you wear your summer dresses off season? Send me an email, I am curious.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you visit again soon.
