Hand-Crafted Has a Unique Charm
Since I was a kid, I loved hand-crafted items. My late mom had knitted dresses, sweater and skirt suits, scarves and mittens for me, and she also had sewn many cute summer dresses. I started appreciating hand-made fashion accessories like beaded necklaces, hats and leather bags. As a teenager, I feel in love with hand-painted scarves. I always have a hard time to resist when I come a cross one that has an outstanding pattern or color combination like this Joyita’s Shamrock scarf given to me as a sample for review by Uno Alla Volta.

When I opened the package I was overwhelmed about the beautiful various shades of green colors. I immediately thought “Wow, this beautiful scarf is not only for St. Patrick’s Day.”

A Limited Edition Means a Collector’s Iitem
Artisan Joyita crafted a limited edition of 250 of beautiful cloverleaves inspired scarves for St. Patrick’s Day. I feel so honored to have one of these unique scarves. Since the scarves are hand-painted one at a time (uno alla volta), not one of the 250 scarves is exactly the same as the other 249 scarves of the limited edition. Each scarf is signed by the artisan and comes with a certificate of authenticity that also states that this edition is limited to 250 pieces.

Great Craftsmanship
Joyita painted the cloverleaves in various shades of green on a white silk satin oblong scarf. The scarf measures 11 inch by 60 inch (28 cm x 1.50 m). The sides look hand-rolled and hand-stitched like one would expect for an expensive silk scarf.
When you inspect the painting you can see the artisan let the colors dry before adding another, i.e. there is no uncontrolled mix. She added a metallic looking color as borders of the shamrock and gray, brown, dark green and black at the ends of the scarf (see photo above). This permits many styling options. Here I only show two of them. Stay tuned for more.

Excellent Price-Performance Ratio
She kept the pattern very modern and elegant. Thus, the proud owner can style outfits with this scarf year round and not only on St. Patrick’s Day. It also means you don’t have to be Irish or of Irish heritage to wear the scarf. You will style many looks with this beauty for years to come. In other words, the price-per-wear will definitively go below a dollar over time. This means thumbs up according to my criteria for a great deal in favor of the client! I don’t have to mention that hand-painted scarves and limited editions increase in value with time, right? 🙂
This scarf is not only an investment into your wardrobe, but also will gain value over time because it’s a collector item.
If I had paid for this scarf, I definitively would not regret having spent the money. I love this scarf. I would recommend it to my BFF. The many greenish and greenery colors make the scarf being full on trend this spring/summer season too. <3
As a St. Patrick’s Day special Uno Alla Volta sells this scarf for only $78. It will be $98 after March 17. However, since it is a limited edition and currently 20% off, you don’t want to wait until then when you plan to add one of the other 249 Shamrock scarves to your wardrobe. 😉
