Work outfit inspired by a brown and pink scarf
This outfit of the day was inspired by the pink and brown color combination of this Louis Vuitton scarf that I found in a consignment store in town for just $5. Some times I am really astonished what treasures people have in their closets. Well, one woman trash is another woman’s treasure.
How I created the look
I picked items from my closet that have colors that occur in the scarf’s print. Since it has gotten cold again, I had to bundle up. Thus, a cashmere sweater in pink like the flowers on the scarf with a brown long sleeve T-shirt underneath plus my leather sheath are a perfect combination with otk-boots and tights. To add extra insulation I wear two pairs of tights and a half slip.
For some interest and extra insulation of my neck I added this Louis Vuitton silk scarf. The scarf and its print ties the color combination of the outfit all together. The result is a posh work outfit.

When you are already reading the blog of a while you may remember how I created a desaturated look with the pink mockneck sweater.

You can wear otk-boots over 40
These otk-boots are fantastic to keep the knees warm. How to wear over-the-knee boots is just about knowing some simple tricks. One trick is to not look like pretty woman is to keep the outfit modest.

For the commute I added my new burgundy motorcycle coat. You have seen the coat with a Fair Isle sweater in the post at the link before. Again I wear this shearling beauty with the burgundy beret. Nevertheless, this outerwear outfit looks a little different as my leg “coverage” differs strongly from how I wore this coat the first time around.
When winter lasts from early October to end of April you really have to try hard not to get bored of your coats and “outerwear outfit”. Thus, I try to create a new one every time. Watch it.

How is winter treating you so far? Are you already bored about your outerwear? Have you tried to style your coats, anoraks, etc. differently? What are your tricks to stay away from winter outerwear fatigue? Let me know by email, I would love to hear from you.
