Since its inception in 1985, Dolce & Gabbana has positioned itself as one of the most iconic brands in the world. Starting with high fashion for women, D&G expanded to revolutionize cosmetics, eyewear, jewelry, leather goods, menswear, perfumes, and timepieces. Just when it seemed that Dolce & Gabbana had maximized its reach, the Italian designer introduced Alta Moda, a luxury lifestyle brand. Since its launch in 2012, its clientele list has grown to over 1,000 elite members. Alta Moda is continuing to solidify itself as an exclusive, high-end lifestyle brand.

Global Appeal

The premiere Alta Moda event by Dolce & Gabbana was held in Taormina, Italy. With inspiration drawn from Sicilian culture, this location was an appropriate choice for the exclusive weekend event that immersed guests in luxury couture. Since that time, Alta Moda events have traveled the globe, starting in other Italian cities like Venice, Portofino, and the Isle of Capri, and branching out to such locales as Hong Kong and New York City. These events have drawn A-list celebrity clients from all over the world, due to the brand’s global appeal and Dolce & Gabbana’s effective immersion in the luxury lifestyle.

Focus on Art

Alta Moda takes couture to the next level, with wearable works of art that pay tribute to the small local artisans that have made Italian fashion world renowned. Encrusted with crystals, rhinestones, 3-D flowers, and diamonds, the dresses featured in every Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda event are inspired by classic, vintage, and historic Italian art. In the runway show, some of the most incredible ensembles featured  painted or heavily embroidered images from famous Italian Renaissance artists. This nod to the art community, including local craftsmen who contributed heavily to the visual grandeur of the show, is part of the attention to detail that solidifies Dolce & Gabbana’s premiere of the Alta Moda luxury lifestyle brand.
