Riders by Lee Buffalo Plaid Shirt with a Chic Twist

I was looking for a new plaid shirt for a while to replace my old green, blue, black, and white shirt. This time, I was looking for a classic Buffalo plaid button-down shirt with a twist, i.e., one that wasn’t the traditional red and black plaid.

When I was offered to review pieces from Riders by Lee and saw these two Buffalo plaid shirts, I immediately wanted to try them out because black and white is an eternal classic. Furthermore, red-and-white is another excellent, posh twist on the classic black-and-red Buffalo plaid.

The pattern matches well at the seams, which is a prerequisite to looking sophisticated in plaid.

I had envisioned wearing them not in the traditional way as a posh weekend casual, but as a chic work button-down shirt, which makes a sophisticated plaid outfit.

Do you dislike the gap or opening that oddly exposes your bra or underwear? I do, too, because it fails to look professional. Guess what? Riders by Lee has a press button, right there! See the photo below. It’s such a great idea and so efficient! I love that! You wonder why no one else had this superb, easy idea!

Classic with a Twist Means Timeless Style

Well these two shirts definitely are a big hit and great wardrobe addition for me. They work with pieces for the office and the weekend and filled my void of not having a cool statement plaid shirt. Actually, now I have two! I have a knack for traditional pieces – read American classic – with a modern twist. These two shirts are exactly that! They are exactly what I needed! Traditional pattern, cut, but a twist on the colors. Perfect to make an entrance!

Tip: A traditional pattern in a non-traditional color combination will always be noted.

Riders by Lee Buffalo Shirts Work All Year Round

Another thing I like about these Riders by Lee Buffalo plaid button-down shirts is that they have a sling to tuck the sleeve up a bit higher than 3/4 length. It’s perfect for midlife women in summer. The rolled-up sleeves also look so cool with a long-sleeved T-shirt underneath in winter. Wearing the sleeves down, with or without a cardigan, creates another cool classic look. I wore the red and white shirt with a cardigan and red suede skirt to the office. I paired the black and white button-down with a houndstooth skirt for a mixed pattern Casual Friday outfit that goes seamlessly for going out with friends for dinner and playing at a bar. In summer, these shirts are a perfect option for what to wear to an outdoor concert.

I Can Recommend this Riders by Lee Shirt to My BFF

The shirts cost $15.99 each! It’s a great bargain! The pieces have nice craftsmanship. The fabric is super soft. Wrinkles tend to disappear easily, especially when you leave them in the bathroom and take a hot shower. Whose hobby is ironing anyway? Note the shirt is also available in blue-navy.

These Buffalo print shirts are an excellent value for their price! Being a classic, they are a wardrobe essential for years. They will get easily below a dollar per wear over their tenure in the closet of any stylish woman who loves classics, but wants them with a slight twist. Are you one of these ladies? I surely am. If you are, get one!
