Combine Old Summer and New Fall Items
When you started creating an awesome fall wardrobe early, you may have already bought some great fall pieces you are eager to wear. Thus, riot your closet for items you already own that give the vibe of the season you want to dress for. A pretty fall dress can be worn on a chilly summer day with the right shoes. Chinos also look great in summer with a classic top and sandals.
Wear it now, wear it later
Recall, it’s already fall weather up here in Alaska. Here I show the new fall outfits and feature how I wore the respective item in summer.
Summer Dress with a Jacket or Cardigan
This look is straight forward adopted from clear sky summer evenings. You added the cardigan when it turned a bit chilly after sunset. In fall, just wear the cardigan all day and add a light trench coat or windbreaker for the commute from and to work. Another great possibility is to wear a dress with a biker jacket instead of a cardigan like in the photo below. To keep your legs warm go for pantyhose or nude fishnets.

I bought this fit-and-flare fall dress for fall on my last trip to Louisiana. I wore it without jacket/cardigan for the last days of Alaska’s short summer. Later in fall, this dress looks great with a cardigan or cropped jacket.

Silk Skirt with Blazer
Wear a short-sleeve cashmere sweater with a light skirt a blazer …

Top with Leather Jacket

Not a fan of pantyhose? Tip:
Pumps with socks are a great trend this autumn. #trends Click To Tweet
Add a Jean Jacket to Your Fav Warm Season Look
In the outfits below, all it took was a different pair of shoes, adding a scarf and a jean jacket to make the look work in the transition season.

Porcelain Kate Middleton inspired dress
Blue and white work for all seasons. Thus, even when you bought a blue and white dress for fall you can style it with open-toe pumps or sandals for now. Later you opt for more sturdy foot gear and may be even wear a cardigan.

Chinos
Chinos are a bit more dressy than jeans, in my opinion. They are my staple for the transition between the warm and cold season. However, one can don them already on a cool summer day with a classic top, strappy sandals and a statement necklace. Learn more on how to style Chinos for fall in the guide at the link.

Polka Dot Dress
I got this polka dot dress in summer for the transition season. Yes, I coudn’t wait to wear it. You saw the dress already twice on the blog. In case you missed it, here are the links how I wore the Pretty Woman inspired dress with tan accessories and a second time I went for a green with cooper outfit. Below see how I styled it for the transition season and earlier in July.

Wrapping Up Wear It Now, Wear It Later
Wearing pieces bought already for fall at the end of the summer is a great way for a summer to fall transition. In the same concept, you can incorporate these pieces on chilly summer days.
