Summer musings on fashion and weather
Well, 2016 is halfway gone. The days are getting shorter again which we don’t see here yet in the Interior due to the midnight sun. The dogs days are about to come, at least in the mid-latitudes. They are a huge challenge to dress for. Hot and muggy means everything sticks to your skin.
Here in Alaska, mid to end of July is the onset of the rain season. Guess, I am not looking forward to it. Temperatures then are in the 50s to 60s (10-15oC), and the air is humid. Thus, you feel cold. I find it worth than -20F (-29.7oC). 😉 For the latter you can dress, but the wet moist air goes everywhere.
What happened at High Latitude Style
June has passed by in no time. Here is the monthly recap of what happened on the blog in June. High Latitude Style turned three. I made a lot of friends – both readers and bloggers – since starting the blog. I love writing posts, and taking outfit photos. I am thrilled when one of my readers bothers to write an email asking for a post on something. Thus, please feel free to email me what you would like to read about here on the blog.
Outfits and posts you liked the most
eShakti dress over layering top with Moschino belt, and Stephanie Professional dance shoes (all own). I accessorized my up-do with a silk rose

2010 fire in the Goldstream Valley. View from the creek that was still partly snow and ice covered
Ageless Style series
I continued my weekly Wednesday Ageless Style series. It was all about summer vacation, June the pearl month and June’s big holiday, Father’s day. The new issues were vacation style, resort style, Father’s Day, pearls and patriotic outfits. You can find previous posts in the Archive under Ageless Style Series.
Fashion linkup partys
Summer is party time. Beside my weekly Top of the World Style linkup party on Thursdays, I also co-hosted Bloggers Who Inspired Me and the Ageless Style Linkup. The latter linkup is every first Tuesday of a month. Thus, mark your calendar for July 5. A big “thank you” goes to all of you who linked up in the last and spread the word about the parties. We all love big parties, don’t we? 🙂
Readers, did you know that yo don’t need a blog to participate in the linkup party? You can also linkup your facebook, google+, Instagram and pinterest posts. Try it at the next party on Thursday.
High Latitude Style is now also on instragram
Speaking of social media, I finally got an instagram account. Woman, I don’t know why it took me so long to add this platform. May be I just like google+ and pinterest so much. I am also on twitter and facebook, so I was hesitant on adding a fifth platform. What is your favorite social media platform and why?
Some of my blogging friends and I joined to bring my readers a $175 cash or giftcode and picnic basket giveaway. Learn more about the giveaway and how to enter.
Your input wanted
Which outfit was your favorite this month? Which post did you like the most? What are your fashion challenges? Let me know by email. I am curious how I can help you and add more on what you want to read more about.
What’s next on High Latitude Style?
There will be again the monthly blogger roundups. Furthermore, I am planning a couple of posts on packing for July. Some readers were interested in a shoe and a barrette post. They will come some time later this summer. Also I got a couple of requests on how I dye my clothes. This post is coming soon. Thus, stay tuned for further High Latitude Style, and turning fashion into style.
P.S. When you are new here and like what you see, get a subscription to High Latitude Style so you never miss a post.
