Ageless Style series
I continued my Ageless Style series. The new issues were how to look ageless in blue, beautiful Valentine’s Day outfits, and why you don’t wear some of the clothes you own. You can find previous posts of the series in the archive.
In January, I run a Styling Contest. Maureen at Decorate me AgeMazing had the most votes with her awesome pink jacket and colorful crochet vest underneath and hence won.
February’s Styling Contest was Spring Transition. Voting ends on Saturday 12 am Alaska time. Thus, head over to my facebook page to vote for your favorite style.
How to enter the styling contest
March’s Styling Contest will be a St. Patrick’s Day Outfit. To participate email me a photo at HLSstylingcontest@gmail.com of how you addressed the styling challenge. Please write Styling Contest in the subject line. In the email, please provide your name, blog’s name if applicable, location, and age. Giving the age decade is good enough, for instance, 40+ when you are over 40, no matter whether you are over 50, 60, but don’t want to disclose it. When submitting a photo you agree that I may post it on facebook and the blog when you are one of the finalists or winner.
The deadline for submission of a contribution will be March 17, i.e. St. Patrick’s Day. Readers and bloggers of all genders and age can participate. I will post three submissions on my facebook page on the following weekend for a week and notify the finalists by email. Please check for the hashtag StylingContest and vote for your favorite look. The submission that becomes the most votes becomes the Styling Contest Winner and can display this cool logo on their blog.
Fashion linkup party
Thanks for all of you who linked up to the Top of the World Style party this month. The party now has an additional feature. A random generator picks one post. The blogger who submitted the post will be featured as Top of the World Style Winner at the next party in addition to the Top of the World OOTD Readers’ Fav and My Fav . Yes, the winner gets also a cool logo for their sidebar, featured or awards page (see below). The new feature aims at introducing other bloggers to my readers and to support my fellow bloggers. It’s a win-win for everybody. 🙂
Since the party runs a week minus 5 minutes, this feature has a temporal delay. At the time of scheduling the new party, the old party is still in full swing and blogger still can join. To give all guests the same chance, the old party has to have closed before drawing the winner. In plain English, the Top of the World Style Winner visited the linkup party from two weeks ago.
Did you know that you don’t need a blog to participate in the party and the community? You can also linkup your Instagram posts. Try it this week at the next party on Thursday.
In February’s expert roundup 6 sewing fashion bloggers shared their secrets how to design your own clothes.
