What the heck is a Cape.Hoodie and who is Tricia Tanaka?
No, this post is not about the tenth episode of the third season of the American drama TV series Lost. On the contrary, it’s all about fashion and style, a very talented, fashion-forward boss girl, and a review of the said Cape.Hoodie.
Tricia Tanaka is a grassroot designer out of Los Angeles. She recently had started a Kickstarter campaign that was overwhelmingly successful because she designed a brandnew clothing item.
When she approached me to introduce her Cape.Hoodie, I was immediately intrigued by this cool, cute, unique statement piece – think of it as a sweatershirt with hood merged with the cut of a cape coat. Sounds interesting, right? And yes, it looks great (see photos below).
Why was I intrigued and excited? Three reasons:
- It matches my personal style as it’s a classic with a twist. This asymmetric hoodie is long in the back, which adds a dramatic touch to the mix of an athleisure hooded cardigan and classic cape coat.
- It looked like it would be flattering on any body at any age. Ageless so to speak. The length in the back is a super benefit for us over 40 who want to cover their bum and/or love handle.
- I like to feature new ideas in fashion and girl bosses/entrepreneurs like this grassroot designer.
A Cape Hoodie…A versatile garment that will be a staple in every wardrobe
This garment has the potential to be the most versatile staple in my wardrobe. It well works with a dress, skirt, jeans or leggings. And, I can belt it when I want. It is a perfect coverup for summer when the air chills down in the evening, no matter whether you are at an outdoor music festival, sitting on the deck, exploring a new town, or strolling along the beach with your significant other. It is also perfect for traveling as it folds up small and it is wrinkle free.
I love the incredible movement – it reminds me of a vintage swing coat. Perfect classic with a twist. Right my personal style. <3Holy Batman! What is it? It is a Cape Hoodie! #TriciaTanaka #designer2know Click To Tweet
This beautiful clothing comes in Black, Charcoal, Navy, Olive Green and Oatmeal in sizes S to XL. Made in Los Angeles. It is made of a durable plush French terry, which is a polyester/spandex. To my experience, this kind of fabric looks beautiful wash after wash.
