What I wore on staycation
I wore this casual outfit of boot-cut jeans with turtleneck sweater during the campus closure during the holiday break. It is quite comfy and also suitable for Casual Friday in a casual work environment like the sciences departments of a university. The look is also perfect for the weekend. You dress for yourself. Thus, dress nicely also on weekends. Click To Tweet
Break old color rules
I like the modern feel of green plus night blue plus brown. This color combination was such a no no when I was a child. My late mom would have sent me back to my wardrobe to either exchange the jeans for brown pants, or the green sweater for a winter white one. It again and again fascinates me how certain colors and/or their combinations are decade-typical. Recall the bright pink with black, or pink with purple of the 80s, or the right into the face orange with brown and winter white everywhere in the 70s.The new fashion rule: Green plus night blue plus brown equals chic. Update your color combinations for a modern vibe
Times change and so does fashion and the color combinations that feel modern. Stay on top of them to not look old-fashioned and hence old. Check the links for other ways of how I styled this green sweater as part of outfits for St. Patrick’s Day with white pants and another time with a plaid sheath (for photos see the post at the link).
How do you style a bright color like this turtleneck sweater? Isn’t this a great modern color combination for women over 40? What do you wear when you are on a staycation? Let me know by email, I am curious.
Have a nice Friday and relaxing weekend my friends. Stay warm.
