What’s the Plan?
Date night is about company, refreshing the relationship, talking with each other. Decting new aspects of the partner. Entertaining each other. Doing something together.Exchanging thoughts. It’s about the other 22 hours of the day. It is obvious that what to wear depends on the plan. It is dressing for your private or even secret life.
What to Wear for Watching Old or Favorite Movies at Home
Of course, you can wear your lounge wear or PJs. But due to working from home that’s become your everyday wear. So a different look may be fun for a change. It’s a special day.
Recall the movie An American President (Hello Mr. President for my German readers)? Andrew Shepard (Michael Douglas) spends a weekend date watching TV at Camp David with his environmental lobbyist girl friend Sydney Ellen Wade (Annette Bening). She wore her sister’s beautiful cable knit sweater, leggings, studs and socks. Very simple, but classic. Cozy. Perfect to cuddle and watch TV with your significant other.

In a state with mild winters, a slip dress is a chic option over a white T-shirt. Alterntively, wear the slip dress with a cozy cardigan. Whimsical jewelry gives the look an even more feminine touch. A jersey fit-and-flare dress is the cold weather option instead of the slip dress.

And of course, a rib knit dress with tights. More on styling a knit dress in the guide at the link.
Cooking a Gourment Meal
Cooking a gourmet meal together requires clothes that are low maintaince and can be washed. Spills just happen. They can ruin the night when you would wear an expensive cocktail dress. Jeans and an off-the shoulder sweater. When it is warm, pair the jeans with a T-shirt with a deep V-neck.
What to Wear for a Romantic Candle Light Dinner?
When you order in, you can dress up like you would when you would eat out. Everygreen classics are the LBD or a little red dress. See what to wear for Valentine’s Day for outfit ideas. Accessorize with pearls.
When you are a hard-die romantic, Romantic Style dresses with floral prints, ruffles or lace can underline the vibe. See the guide at the link to learn how to have Romantic Style.
Dancing
The space is limited even when you move the furniture to the walls. A wide flaring skirt may bear the risk that it unindentionally swipes things off the shelves. Thus, it’s best to wear something body concious or dance pants like in the outfit below. Pick music for dances that can be danced more or less in place. Salsa, swing, balboa, rhumba, cha-cha-cha, night-club 2 step. When you live in an appartment complex, make sure you wear dance shoes. Regular street shoes may be too hard and cause to much noise. You don’t want the people in the appartment below to have a “clogging” problem.
