Orange and brown look of the day

I often get the question whether it is unprofessional to wear color at work. When you are shy on colors already for your personal life a pink and navy color combination is a good way to add color to your work wardrobe. On Casual Friday jeans and a red top with a red and blue tartan scarf are great for work are a fool proof combination for a business casual work place.

The look of the day is another example how to wear color to work. Just make the color the statement. The Gucci scarf that I scored in a consignment store a couple of years ago, pulls the brown and winter white of the midi skirt and orange of the top together. Adding a brown bracelet and necklace and my otk-boots and ready is the winter office look with a pop of color. Going for a bold orange top is a great way  how to improve your mood with color on a rainy day. Who doesn’t need that when the sky is gray?

Debbie linked her awesome red fit-and-flare coat. What a statement piece! Like from a fairy tale! Redheads look so stunning in red! I always wonder where that old-fashioned rule of redheads shouldn’t wear red comes from? Need more evidence for looking great in red as a redhead?

Yes, I can see that. They often feel save in the gray-black-blue uniform.

I love color, especially at work! We all need a bright spot in the day. I work with clients who are afraid of color, and it takes some gentle coaxing, and some selfies to help them see how much better they look!

    Pretty Office Holiday look!

This is a lovely color combination, Nicole! I really like your plaid skirt and how you have styled color for the office.

How wonderful to be showcased, Nicole!!
I’m a huge fan of color anywhere. The office is no different. I wonder why it seems like most “business suits” are boring and neutral??

I love that this year is all about colorful sweater. It is a break from the black and its hue. I love the orange sweater you wear today and I think it looks cute with everything.

Nicole, I absolutely love orange and brown together and this skirt is so wonderful! The button detail is so cute. I am always inspired when you pair tall boots with midi skirts. It gives me all the retro 70’s vibes and you wear it so well! I need to try my own interpretation of this combination one of these days!
