Summer travel and vacation style
Finally summer arrived in the Interior. June is the most beautiful month in the Interior. The Sun is up nearly 24/7. The light is so energizing. You don’t want to go to sleep. You may even watch a baseball game outside without flood lights under the midnight Sun or paddle down the Chena River on a board with your dog.
One of my favorite things to do is to dress up and go out for dinner outside or to dress (down ?) in a summer vacation look to lounge on the deck at the river. Today, I will show you a travel look that I wore for dinner outside on the Chena, and a vacation style. You can find more chic travel looks and shortcut for great vacation style at the posts at the links.
The following photos show the summer vacation outfit. I wore it for brunch and lounging at the river. I stayed with a black, white and gray neutral desaturated color scheme as these colors look so posh together. I went with this summer It bag trend wearing a basket bag. Since I am petite a maxi dress needs some high heels. These wood plateau sandals do the trick. The black is repeated in the look in the scarf, basket, layering top, and hut. The white occur in the drawstring of the maxi, scarf, and basket. the different textures make the look interesting.
Do you recognize the place? When you are a regular reader you may remember the post I wrote about Fairbanks new It place. In the evenings, a fire burns in the pit.
The travel look
The next outfit is perfect for summer travel. Who likes to sweat like a pig when driving. Yes, you could switch on the AC, but I have already so much to pay for my winter heating bill. Thus, I want to at least not spend money on making the air cold when it is finally warm. You have to live in Alaska for nearly 20 years to understand this funny behavior. Any how, the top is loose. Thus, its’s perfect with straight summer pants. The open-toe pumps have a low heel (2 inch, 5 cm). This means they are very comfy to walk in. Ok, ok, for someone like me who does her sports on a 4 inch heel. When you are new here, I am a ballroom dancer and once was a Star on Dancing with the Fairbanks Stars.
If you liked any of these outfit inspirations, it would help me if you pinned them to your own Pinterest board. It’s a great way that your friends, family, and others can see them too.

Joi’s striped, tired maxi dress look became my Fav. She really rocks this look and looks so tall. A perfect summer “browsing the beach front shops look.” Joi is the style blogger at In My Joi. She says about herself that she always enjoyed dressing up, but developed her own personal style in her early 30s. She loves saturated bright colors, to drape herself in vintage, mixed prints, and has a knack for hats. She believes that style is a way to express who you are, without having to speak.
Each day of life offers up a blank canvas, a fresh opportunity to use style to express different dimensions of my authentic self. #quote - Joi, style blogger Click To Tweet
