Fashion over 40 and trend colors
There is not just one color of the year, this time, there are even two: rose quartz and serenity. Or in plain English, a very light blush pink and light blue. No, not baby pink and baby blue. But for some of us the 2016 It colors are as bad as the latter sounds.
First of all, these colors mean you will see them everywhere and even worse, you can’t buy any other shade of pink or pale blue. Ok, that’s a little bit exagerrated. Second, for many of us these colors are not flattering and wash us out. Third, they are close to colors, we associate with the uniform of Old. In other words, these colors are hard to style to start with. However, you can work around the It color of the year and look up-to-date nevertheless.
This year’s It colors are so not me. To nevertheless look fashion forward or on trend I go with colors close to them. Nobody runs around with the Pantome colors of the year chart, right? I add a color that works with my color type and make sure that color dominates the outfit as is shown in the OOTD. This means you can create Pantome colors inspired outfits. When the color of the year is not in your palette, go with one of yours that is close. Click To Tweet
How do you deal with fashion colors that are not so you? Skip them? Or do you go with something close to the color? Let me know by email and/or linkup examples in addition to your OOTD.
Top of the World Style linkup-party
Welcome to the 49th Top of the World Style fashion linkup party. Thanks to those of you who linked up in the past. You are all so stylish! I can’t wait to see what you are wearing this week.
As usual, the Readers’ Fav OOTD goes to the link you clicked the most, which was Tracey’s post. She is one of the two bloggers of The Naughty Forty Diaries. Her printed dress is really a head turner with the denim jacket. Who wouldn’t want to own a dress like that? 😉
It seemed to have been the party of the dresses. Emma Peach from Style Splash became My Fav OOTD. Her Little Red Dress with ruffles is a full on spring trend. Pairing it with animal pattern instead of metallic or black gives the look a nice twist. <3
