Reader opinion survey

Dear Readers,

I have a favor to ask. Can you fill out my reader survey? It would mean a lot to me. Your opinions and feedback will help me to write more about what you want to read. Thank you very much in advance. I so appreciate your support. <3

My casual posh Christmas dinner outfit

I hope you enjoyed the longer weekend and holidays. I also hope you don’t have to run to the mall and exchange gifts. It’s crowdy and stressful out there.

In today’s post, I want to show you my Christmas dinner outfit. I went low key when going out for a holiday dinner with colleagues. We went after work so the look had to fit both. Thus, I kept the look low key business casual style with some “glam.”

Holiday plaid

In the states and Great Britain, the holidays are often associated with plaid. Despite I have a chic fit-and-flare Voodoo Vixen holiday plaid dress, I went for a wool plaid skirt. Wool is just a better insulator than a mixed cotton spandex fabric. At the end of last week, temperatures finally dropped below zero Fahrenheit (-18oC).

Holiday jewelry

I went for a Russian scarf instead of holiday jewelry. Full disclosure. I don’t have any anymore. When I was a visiting graduate student at SUNY Albany back in the 80s, I bought some holiday jewelry in a thrift store in downtown Albany. I used to wear them as statement pieces during the holiday season back in Germany. Back in the 80s, nobody wore Christmas jewelry. When I packed my belonging for immigration more than 16 years ago, I gave my holiday jewelry collection away to a colleague. She had always adored them. Why I gave them away? Well, I knew that in the states, they wouldn’t be a statement. For the record, today, this type of jewelry lost its statement status in Germany. 😉

Top of the World OOTDs

The Top of the World Style Winner is picked by a random generator from the party two weeks ago, because each party runs a week minus 5 minutes. At the time of scheduling a new party, the old party is still in full swing and guests still can link up. To give all guests the same chance to be drawn at random, the party has to have closed before drawing the winner. This means the Top of the World Style Winner visited the linkup two weeks ago.
