Posts you loved the most in October

Time to recap October and its OOTM

Time is flying by so fast. It’s almost Thanksgiving! The craziness of shopping for the holiday starts on Black Friday. Have you made your shopping list already? While my list is ready, I still have to do the ordering. While shopping in Fairbanks is not like shopping in rural Alaska, but there are many things that you can’t get in town and you have to buy online.

I also still have to order holiday cookies. I don’t want to do it too early so they are not gone before the holidays. 😉 My late mom used to hide the home-baked cookies for that very reason. We loved her cookies. I really loved her sending me her home-made cookies when I was in college in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Do you like the holiday season? Sometimes I wish, I had known as a kid and a teenager how much work it is to organize that all. I probably would have enjoyed or at least appreciated it more. If only!

Let’s recap what happened on the blog in October. The Ageless Style Linkup featured how to get more outfits from the pieces you already own. Having a look at your pieces and wearing them beyond their original purpose slows fashion down without the sacrifice of variety. Looking at it from an environmental point of view it’s a good thing. Of course, shopping for new clothes for a new look is better from an economic point of view. However, even when shopping for new clothes you can be environmentally conscious by looking for clothes from sustainable sources and/or your decision which economy you want to support. 😉 The farther away, the longer the transport, the higher the emissions from the production site to your closet.

The two posts that got the most likes were dress plus clutch and pumps equal instant chic and I love the look of unusual prints.

Top of the World OOTDs

The Top of the World Style Winner is picked by a random generator from the party two weeks ago. The reasons are as follow: Each party runs a week minus 5 minutes. At the time of scheduling a new party, the old party is still in full swing and blogger still can join. To give all guests the same chance, the old party has to have closed before drawing the winner. In plain English, the Top of the World Style Winner visited the linkup party two weeks ago.
