Fall’s Do is orange with pink
When the August fashion magazines come out at the end of July, it may be very strange to readers in the warmer climates to already think about fall clothing. They are in full mode of fighting the summer heat. However, for me as an Alaskan the August fashion magazines are just on time as in mid July I am already planning my fall and winter additions to my wardrobe. Actually, the belt is one of my wardrobe updates for fall. Orange is a nice color for fall. Here I am color blocking a black leather skirt (I wear it year-round) with an orange belt, orange bag and a pink cardigan worn as sweater/blouse with my pink cap-toe nude orange seamed pumps. See featured photo for a close-up on the shoes. Learn more on which colors work with orange.

In mid August, the about 84 day long daylight ends in Interior Alaska. Dark days and white nights can confuse you big time. Then we get darkness at night again and we can see the stars for about 20 minutes until it turns to daylight again. It is about that time when the first leaves turn yellow and everybody gets into a denial mode. About a month later, the first flurries may fly. However, they will not last. Typically snow that falls in the first third of October is the one that lasts until mid to end of April or like this year, early May. Given these facts you understand that I am already talking about creating a working fall wardrobe.
Have you already started planing your fall wardrobe updates? What will you buy? Which trends will you adopt?
