New OOTD, new Privacy Policy, and a new linkup

New outfit of the day

Before I come to the administrative staff (GDPR), let’s talk fashion a bit, and then let’s have a party.

You can wear a scuba outfit to work

Finally, the weather permitted me to wear the scuba sheath dress that I bought in February to update my wardrobe with something purple/violet. I styled it for the office with my cropped scuba jacket that I already owned. The pumps were also an addition for this warm season to add this years It color violet. The long suede belt gives the look the finishing touch.

A few words on the background of the OOTD

My husband is redoing our deck as you see in the OOTD photos. He first didn’t like the idea to take the photos on the unfinished deck. However, when he saw how great the dress and pumps play with the color of the deck he changed his mind. We took the photos after a rain shower when the Sun broke thru the clouds. Like it is typical for convective rain there were some wind gusts that played with my hair. I didn’t discard the photo as wind blown hair sort of goes well with scuba fabric.

I love sheath dresses. They are instant style. Add a pair of pumps and a work bag and you are ready to go to the office. Also there are many ways to wear them. Interested? Check this post on various ways to wear a sheath.

Add personal style with accessories

When you want personal style, you need to put in some extra efforts like adding accessories. One of my favorite accessories are belts. I guess you knew that already. When you are new to belts you may like to read how not to wear a belt and which belts are best for you.

An easy way to add a personal touch is having a signature piece that you wear 24/7/365. In my case, the studded bangle.

What’s your signature piece? Let me know, send me an email.

On the Privacy Policy talks these days

In the recent days, you may have received many emails from your social media provider or other blogs you signed up to about their changes in their privacy policy. You saw that many internet services lately make you click that you read their privacy notice. When you use social media, you got their emails making you aware about their changes in the privacy policy. When you are already subscribed to my email list you also got an email from me to confirm/update your subscription.

On first view and in accumulation, these privacy policy emails seem annoying. I hear you! These changes are required due to the new EU law that will be in effect start May 25. Thus, bloggers, online shopping and internet services had to change their privacy policies to be in compliance  with some new laws that are to provide the users of these services control about their data. While it seemed annoying at first, and yes, it put a lot of work on the service providers including bloggers, the requirements of the law are a good thing on second thought. They give more clarity to you the user and in case of a blog the reader, what happens with your data.

Thus, I have updated my privacy policy to to be in compliance. Please be aware that I will never sell your email addresses and that I use software to protect your data. You can always find my Privacy Policy at and you can update your preferences, or unsubscribe from my different email lists any time.

Change in Privacy Policy in response to EU laws

I always believed you should know what data I collect from you and how I use it, and that you should have meaningful control over both. As part of my ongoing commitment to transparency, and in preparation for new data protection laws that take effect this month, I had sent an email about my  Privacy Policy  to my subscribers to empower you to make the best decisions about the information that you share with me. Please read my new policy in full. Here is a brief summary of the key updates that include:

  • More focus on the controls I offer you over your personal data;
  • More focus on the controls I offer you over to receive the information you are interested in;
  • Information on how I comply with law, to serve the public interest, and keep High Latitude Style safe and welcoming for everyone.

Please be aware that by using my services, i.e. the blog, linkup parties, quizzes and/or contacting me via email on or after that date, you are agreeing to these updates. Recall, you can use the controls in my updated policy to limit the information I collect about you or how I use it. You can update them any time or also choose to unsubscribe. You have the final say about whether and how I process your personal data.

As you probably already know, I offer to subscribe to different email lists to not spam you with information you aren’t interested in. There are currently five email lists you can subscribe to:
