Neon pumps are a statement
I found these neon yellow pumps on eBay. Neon-anything is always risky beyond 40. Thus, when you want to wear neon in midlife you have to keep the statement color the statement in an otherwise classic outfit.
Posh office outfit with neon pumps
When I saw this black fitted Ann Taylor blazer with white, light purple and bluish purple weaved threads on the rack in our local mall, I had to have it. When I tried it on it was even a perfect fit! No journey to the tailor! I got even more excited when I found out it was on sale. This new blazer perfectly fits to my black silk scarf with white and bluish purple print, and my light purple Coach bag. I paired the new blazer with my full leather skirt and my dotted cardigan that I like to wear instead of a blouse in spring. To give the look a little edge and stir away from girlie I added my neon pumps.
Neon pumps draw attention to your ankles and feet
At the office, I took the blazer off. The blazer is just perfect at this time a year, to insulate me from the chilly air in the mornings. This means I wear the blazer as a cover-up. Even without the blazer, the neon pumps stay the statement of the outfit. This means the neon pumps draw attention to your ankles and feet. When you don’t like your ankle be the focus and/or believe you have too large feet, skip the trend of neon pumps.
Would you wear neon colors over 40? If so, would you have the nerve to integrate them into an office outfit?
