I love the look of unusual prints

Unexpected prints make a sleek dress a statement

I love Victoria Beckham’s sleek designs. A couple of years ago, I splurged on this silk fall dress. you have seen it on the blog in various outfits, for instance, worn as a shirt, I love the cut, color combination, and the print. Dresses on a dress. How genius, or should I say genia (The female form, I had to take Latin for 5 years!) is this idea? Not the usual floral print, polka dots, squares, triangles, but dresses!

I love her designs, but I would like a bit more fabric towards the “south”, i.e. a bit more leg coverage. Thus, I recently sew this lace underskirt to wear under this (and other dresses). It’s basically a recycled half slip. I sew on two rows of lace so I could wear it as an underskirt and elongate dresses that don’t have my favorite length. I love my hems to be just above the knee. Thus, sort of my sweet point for length.

Do you wear underskirts under dresses that are shorter than your favorite hemline? Do you make them yourself, or do you buy them? Or do you skip a dress/skirt because it is shorter than your favorite/best skirt length? What about dresses/skirts that are longer than that? How long do you wear them in that length, before you shorten them? Just curious.

You can find how to shorten a dress at the link.

Top of the World OOTDs

The Top of the World Style Winner is picked by a random generator from the party two weeks ago. The reasons are as follow: Each party runs a week minus 5 minutes. At the time of scheduling a new party, the old party is still in full swing and blogger still can join. To give all guests the same chance, the old party has to have closed before drawing the winner. In plain English, the Top of the World Style Winner visited the linkup party two weeks ago.

The winner of this week’s feature is Jen of Librarian for Life Style, who submitted her winning post at the 130th linkup party. She featured her fall shopping trip and various It pieces she tried out. This stripped dress with floral print looks great on her and has some easy so she still can reach to top shelves.

Top of the World Readers' Fav Grace

The post by Grace at Color and Grace became Top of the World Readers’ Fav as you clicked her post the most. Animal prints a big thing right now. Her giraffe print coat is a real head turner. It sticks out of the crowd of It leopard prints. Who does love that?
