Jogging pants with heels for style

I don’t like jogging, running, cross-country ski, hiking or biking except may be biking in the Netherlands. I don’t even own a pair of jogging shoes. I don’t have a bike, hiking boots or skis. I never hit the trails since coming to Alaska. All my sport shoes seem to be clones of sandals that have heels and my only pair of jogging pants is made of leather, i.e. it is a statement piece, not intended for any sport activity, not even my sport – ballroom dancing.

I blame dancing as the reason why I can catch the campus shuttle running in heels, but not being able to catch the shuttle when wearing flats. I do not know how to walk in flats. Thus, I do not like to run, jog, ski or hike. You need flat shoes for these sports.

I jog in heels, not flats. #style Click To Tweet

For me there are 101 reasons to wear heels. LOL. I’m wearing them since 7th grade.

Anyhow, the photos above shows how I wear jogger pants to work on Casual Friday. I just go for a dressy pair in leather and dress them up with the typical professional work style elements like a cashmere sweater, heels and lot of pearls. The important thing is that the pants are clearly not for the gym or sports. Check this post for another outfit with joggers at work.

Here I am wearing my only pair of “sports clothes”, my jogging pants with a turtleneck cashmere sweater and camouflage booties that you have already seen in the post at the link on the blog before. For the commute, I wore my short shearling coat. Add a bag, hat, scarf, gloves, sunglasses, and I am ready to hit the door to run outside – of course in heels.

When you are a flat shoe person have you ever wondered why you can walk in heels in the store, but nowhere else? Let me tell you it’s a selling strategy. Do you wear joggers for other occasions than exercising? How to you style them? Let me know, I am curious.
