Yes, this great green beauty from Uno Alla Volta is perfect for adding a pop of color to a neutral color outfit like the black one or the burgundy and animal print one in this post. The bold colored bag is the perfect statement piece to make an entrance! I am in color crush mode!

However, just using this beauty for a pop of color would waste a lot of opportunities for great outfits. It would under-use the potential of this great bag. Let’s travel down the road of color crush. I love colors like the next gal and nobody can talk me out of wearing colors just because I am over 50. Stylist’s Secret to Style a Bold Color Bag

Here is the secret how to make it work: Repeat the color of the bag in the outfit. It the case of prints, ground the outfit with a solid piece in the color that is dominant in or is the “background” of the print.

 

Tip: Ground your prints with a solid color.

 

Styling Inspirations with a Bold Color Handbag

Let me explain how these tips play out by reviewing the outfit photos. In the outfit with the pants, the grounding color is burgundy and the green of the Uno Alla Volta artisan handmade Italian leather shoulder bag repeats in the print of the top. In the look with the dress, the winter white of the “background” of the print and the jacket serve to ground the outfit. The color of the Florentine shoulder bag is repeated in the abstract print of the dress and ear studs.

When Can You Carry a Color Bag?

A colorful statement bag works for many occasions. This bold green bag is also great for visiting open air concerts and festivals as it also works well as a cross-body bag (see photo where I twirl). I used to have a small bag in this style, when I was in my twenties that I wore at such events.

In contrast to that bag back then, this new Uno Alla Volta saddle bag is handmade of great quality leather with a nice fabric lining inside and a zipper pocket. This means items like credit cards and a phone are well secured.

This artisan-made bag closes easily with a magnet. Therefore, no buckling and unbuckling needed! This means you can get the phone out before it switches to leaving a message.

This Florentine shoulder bag was made by sister artisans Alessandra and Elisabetta, the same ladies who also crafted the suede clutch/purse that I reviewed some time ago.
