In the above outfit photo, I am wearing my Burberry tartan wool blazer again as a jacket for some extra insulation. I bought this blazer a size larger than I would need normally when wearing it over a shirt or blouse. The purpose was to be able to wear the blazer on cold winter days as a blazer with a cashmere sweater or even long sleeved shirt/blouse plus cashmere sweater underneath. Furthermore, I wanted to wear this blazer in late fall and early winter, i.e. Fairbanks late September to mid October, as an “overcoat” like shown in the photo. The Kate Moss for Longchamp bag picks up the tan color in the blazer as does the Gucci scarf pick up colors of the tartan.
Underneath this blazer I was wearing a light linen blazer from summer that matches the light blue in the weaved floral pattern of the skirt. You have seen the cashmere sweater before, but worn the correct way. In today’s OOTD, I wore it backwards to have a high neckline. The sweater’s color picks up the dark blue of the skirt’s floral pattern as do the L.K. Bennett pumps. Despite of the Sun, wearing this outfit alone would be way too cold without adding the scarf and second blazer. I felt very cold during the photo shots for the work outfit.
How do you layer for fall? What are you wearing during the summer to fall transition? Are you also procrastinating on getting your winter coats out of the storage?
