Are you often frustrated that you love a trendy or classic piece, but it shows off your flaws like a TV ad shows off a product? The piece would be perfect when it had wider sleeves or when its hem would not hit just right there on your muffin top?
It must not be like that. Today I want to introduce you to Covered Perfectly. Pauline Durban founded this company when she was in her 50s. She well understands the body changes associated with menopause. Thus, the company’s mission is dressing women in midlife to their best ever.
The company specializes in stylish, fashionable clothes for women over 40. The clothes’ fabrics are thin enough to allow stylish layering without adding unwanted bulk. At the same time, the fabrics are still thick enough to cover bulks and bumps. The company offers clothes that cover perfectly a tummy or are designed to cover love-handles perfectly. Thick or saggy upper arms? No problem! They have a solution that distracts from the “flaws” by show-casting your best features like a great collar bone, nice lower arms and hands, for instance. At the same time, they cover the flaws perfectly by illusion.
Example bell-sleeved v-neck women top
See for example this beautiful top. It is perfect to hide several flaws at once. Its bell sleeves are not only a hot trend right now, but also cover thick upper arms or not so well-tuned upper arms perfectly as they end just at the elbow. The bell-shaped cut of the sleeves means that despite coverage, there is still a lot of room for your skin to breeze. Skin and fabric are not permanently in direct contact. Hence, your body heat can escape as long as the ambient air is less warm than your body.
The top’s straight cut and banded drop waist band can camouflage a thick middle and/or muffin tops. Even better, you can choose where you want the band to sit for the best coverage! I am long-waisted and like the band sitting on my hips covering my bum (see photos with the striped skirt).
The V-neck pulls the eye up and gives the illusion of being taller than you actually are. It also distracts from your mid-section by showing off your collarbone. The cleavage is work appropriate.
The raglan style hides wide shoulders that often go along with strong upper arms. The top comes in royal blue as shown here, malt and black.
Fabric and care
The blouse is made from 94% micromodal and 6% Spandex. The latter guarantees that the item keeps its form. The former is a fiber made of European beech wood. Thus, micromodal is completely natural from a sustainable resource. It is produced in Austria. The top itself is made in the U.S.. I really love micromodal for its super softness. It feels so great on the skin.
The blouse is machine washable, and will keep its form best when you lay it flat or hang it to dry. This means low maintenance. A big plus for any busy woman!
The raglan style softens broad shoulders. It also helps to create a great fit in the shoulder area. As mentioned before, you can choose the length of the band. The middle part of the blouse has enough ease for a nice flow of the fabric without giving the impression that you wear wide clothes to hide your mid-section. This balance act is well done.
The fabric is thin enough that you can still wear a coat over the bell-sleeved piece without looking like Popeye (see photo below).
This beauty comes in sizes S to 1X. I am wearing a size S here and it feels like the piece was cut for me. 🙂
How to style the bell-sleeved v-neck blouse
This flattering V-neck banded bottom blouse can be styled up and down. Thus, it works well for the office, running errands on the weekend, going out and on vacation. Add strappy sandals, a pencil skirt and a statement necklace for some extra drama for dinner. Use a pendant necklace or scarf as accessories when styling the piece with dress trousers for a day at the office. Accessorize with a shell or wood bead necklace and white Bermudas or white cropped pants when sightseeing on vacation. You can even tuck the band bottom in for a different look (see photo below).
Covered Perfectly ships to all 50 U.S. states and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Guam by USPS Priority Mail. This means your order will arrive within 2 to 5 business days anywhere in the U.S.. Shipping is free of charge on all orders over $47.
This bell-sleeved v-neck blouse costs $59.95. This beauty works for spring, summer and early fall. Typically, I keep a work appropriate top for about two years and wear it on average at least once every 2 weeks. Since this piece can be styled for many occasions (e.g. weekend, work, vacation, going out, dancing), I expect to wear it at least once a week from spring to fall, i.e. about 30 times over this time frame. About 30 wears per year for two years means a price-per-wear of about $1. Per my criterion, this price-per-wear is a great deal and an excellent price-performance ratio.
In summary: This Covered Perfectly top is worth its money. I would buy it. <3

Top of the World OOTDs
To support other fashion and style bloggers, I added a new feature to the Top of the World Style linkup party last week. A random generator picks one post. The blogger who submitted the post becomes the Top of the World Style Winner. S/he is featured at the next party in addition to the Top of the World OOTD Readers’ Fav and Top of the World OOTD My Fav. Of course, the winner also gets a cool logo for their sidebar, featured or awards page (see below). 🙂
Top of the World Style Winner of the Week
Since the party runs a week minus 5 minutes, this feature will have temporal delay of two weeks for technical reasons. At the time of scheduling a new party, the old party is still in full swing and blogger still can join. To give all guests the same chance, the old party has to have closed before drawing the winner. In plain English, the Top of the World Style Winner visited the linkup party two weeks ago.
The winner of this week’s feature is Rebecca, the blogger at Red Tag Chic Los Angeles who submitted her winning post at the 103rd linkup party.
Laurie the blogger at Vanity and Me became Top of the World OOTD Readers’ Fav as you clicked her post the most. Her floral, colorful bomber jacket screams spring. The pink necklace with the orange top are so unexpected together, but so chic. A color combination to remember!
Sabina, the blogger at Oceanblue Style at Manderley, became Top of the World OOTD My Fav</em>. Her camel color knit dress has just the right ease to look incredibly stylish. It looks so cool with denim. Her outfit shows that one can style an all neutral color outfit that is everything but boring. A real stunner!
Congrats ladies! Please grab your respective featured Top of the World OOTD button from my Linkup Page.
