Can you believe that it is already September? Where did the summer go? Or even worse, where did the year go? We are now already preparing our fall/winter wardrobe. Fashion weeks are around the corner. Next comes Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Halloween. It’s time to start thinking about the gifts for your loved ones and close friends. Who’s turn is organizing the family union on Thanksgiving and/or Christmas? The entire holiday craziness and stress including the relieve when the year is finally over. On to the next one.

Let’s recap what happened on the blog this month. The most liked outfit post was my color crush. In the post, I showed that a  color bag can go far beyond just a pop of color to an all neutral outfit. A colored bag also looks great with a colorful outfit. Why is that important and of interest?

As we get older our skin and hair loose some of their youthful colors. Thus, we may more easily look pale or even unhealthy in all neutral outfits, pastels, dark colors or a monochromatic outfit. This means in outfits that worked so well for us in the past. Remember how cool we looked in our all black uniform or the 90s? Today, adding the right colors close to our face can take years off and make us look more attractive and healthy. For me deep, bold colors do the trick.

The post that was read the most in August, was what I learned from 1000 fashion posts.

What I learned from 1000 fashion posts

Ageless Style

August’s Ageless Style linkup featured How to wear graphic Tees. Speaking of the linkup you can still join the September Ageless Style linkup that features how to style a summer skirt for fall. The Ageless Style series also addressed the best and worst trends for fall, and summer to fall transition.

Focus Alaska

The weekly series on Alaska curiosa, storytelling, travel insider tips and lifestyle featured a funny story of coming to Alaska, a scientific post about permafrost damage, Alaska’s frequent flyers, and Alaskans’ dog love.

OOTD

Now to the OOTD. I started adding pieces from the cool season gear to my outfits lately. In this OOTD, for instance, I pair my pleated leather skirt with a graphic Tee and a bomber jacket for a street style inspired fall outfit. The wooden sandals provide the finishing touch. This look would also work with black tight for the first chilly days of fall.

Have you already switched to integrating cold season items into your outfits like I did here with the pleated leather skirt? Which winter items do you start wearing the first when fall approaches? Old ones or the new wardrobe updates for fall? Let me know by email, I am curious.

Top of the World OOTDs

The Top of the World Style Winner is picked by a random generator from the party two weeks ago. The reasons are as follow: Each party runs a week minus 5 minutes. At the time of scheduling a new party, the old party is still in full swing and blogger still can join. To give all guests the same chance, the old party has to have closed before drawing the winner. In plain English, the Top of the World Style Winner visited the linkup party two weeks ago.

Johanna Grange, the lifestyle blogger at 101 Things I Love became my favorite of last week’s party. She caught my interest in this outfit with the contrast between the sweet-romantic top and the tough studded leather skirt. The sneakers are the perfect finish as they work for both styles. Genius. ❤
