Today I want to introduce you to Soft Surroundings. They not only have a great bedding and home collection, but also an incredible clothing collection. Thus, you can imagine how excited I was, when they asked me to pick an outfit from their pre-fall clothes for review.
I wanted to create a fun weekend outfit with pieces that also could be worn for work with other pieces I already own. I picked the bottom first, this cuffed dark jeans. The great Provence print on the cuff of these Jennifer dark blue jeans at Soft Surroundings caught my eyes. A similar style is available with leopard print cuffs for the not so daring fashionista. The printed cuff is a fun twist on the classic. ❤
The jeans have a traditional 5-pocket styling, antiqued brass zipper and rivets. They are curve-friendly, and bounce back when you sat for a while. Which woman doesn’t love that? Thus, they are perfect for travel, weekend and even Casual Friday. The cut is true to size. I also love that there is no gap in the back! The jeans also lift, and sculpture. The dark color in combination with the cut give the illusion of mile long legs when you wear the cuff down (photo below). I wore this look for Casual Friday last week.
These pants cost $118.95, which is in the typical price I spent for a pair of jeans in this quality. Thus, the trendy twist seems to come just as an extra free bee. LOL.
Next I picked this chic draped Bermondsey knit top. It creates a subtly posh look with its pearl inspired button line that gathers the drape. The top even came with an extra button! As you know, I love boat-necks. This cowl boat-neck creates interest and is also office appropriate. The top has long sleeves, but I pushed them up for style. The material is a cotton/modal/spandex mix. It is super soft and feels great on the skin. Soft Surroundings has this beauty also in blue, olive, vine green, and burgundy. The T-shirt is cut true to their size chart with an ease for loose draping.
My first idea was to make this beautiful T-shirt the statement in blue, which is lighter than the dark blue of the pants. Sort of repeating the light blue sky of the cuffs and add metallic slides as finishing touch. A posh casual look.
When browsing for metallic slides, I found a great cool crisscross silver pair that I love. But when I saw these extravagant floral embroidery emblazons slipper-like mules, a new outfit popped up in my mind! Summer in the Provence. The great view when laying in the grass at the top of a hill in the French maritime Alps looking thru the flowers on an old town!
Thus, I went for black with the T-shirt and made the ankle-feet area the statement of the look. These stunning mules are handmade by Brazilian artisans. They have a comfy leather lining inside. Their padded footbed allowed me to stand at my desk all day. My back loved that! The mules have about an 1-1/2″ (3.8 cm) high stacked heel. It is just high enough to make them office appropriate. I wear a US size 7.5 and the shoes are a perfect fit. These shoes have high quality and are definitively worth their $139. Given that embroidery is a big trend this fall/winter season, one can get the cost-per-wear down to a $1 easily when one lives in the warm southern states. Even in the cold northern states when one swaps the booties to these embroidered mules at the office when wearing pants. Soft Surroundings has these suede leather mules also in brown with a pink flower. Brown and pink is such a great color combination too! ❤
The last item I picked was the jewelry. Since the Tee has already a lot of interest around the neck, I went for these Victoria lapis “chain” embellished long earrings. They are much lighter than they look. Soft Surroundings has these earrings also in labradorite with gold accents for women whose color palette is warm. Gemstones are always in style. They are just $39.95, which is a bargain one can’t resist.
In summary, all items I received from Soft Surroundings’ women clothing collection have great quality at an affordable price. I definitively wouldn’t regret my purchase if I had bought them.
How do you like these weekend fall and Casual Friday outfits? Do you shop for whole outfits or just pieces? What would your outfit look from Soft Surroundings look like? Let me know, I am curious.
