Wear a dress as skirt with sweater in similar hue

This monochromatic work outfit recycles a lace dress from summer to create a monochromatic outfit. The dress is worn under the sweater as a skirt. The structure of the lace creates interest and is in contrast to the flat knit of the tights and sweater. The suede fall sandals add another texture in the same shades. The different structures of the material keep the monochromatic outfit interesting.

Style your outerwear and include what sticks out from the outfit underneath

For the commute to work, I decided to make the turquoise the pop of color of the outerwear outfit as the tights and sandals had already this color. I added a scarf and gloves in a similar shade of turquoise. Again here I play with different texture – suede (mate), silk (shiny). The Camel bag picks up the black of the coat, but again in a different texture pebbled vs. suede.

Top of the World Style linkup-party

Thanks to those of you who linked up last week. You are all so stylish! The Readers’ Fav OOTD goes to the link you clicked the most which was Lynn Holland’s OOTD from One I made Earlier Today. Blue and green together were always a strong debate in fashion, but she shows that it can work well. They are adjacent on the color wheel. The red vest with stripes, leopard flats and white denim after Labor Day outfit from Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots became My Fav OOTD.
