Do you like the new spring fashion trends? This weekend I browsed the wordpress reader and stumbled upon a post from Likes of Me. She felt tired, may be fed up by (some of the) recent fashion trends and shopping offers (for 40+). The online offers are still all winter and too hot for her climate. She wondered whether it is just her not running after every trend anymore and buying less.

No, it is not just you

The poncho trend is only flattering for 30 or 20 somethings who are pregnant. Even when the spring fashion becomes available online, there is much to desire for us 40+. Have you taken a peek at the spring 2015 colors yet? They look like ice cream! The skin of a twenty something student, who studies outside in the shade, can take these colors. However, the skin of a 40+ working 9 to 5 and then being caught up in household cores and taxi driving around her teenagers to sport and other after school activities, looks just washed out in these colors.

Ridiculous spring trends for 40+

The belly free trend is just plain awful for anyone over 30. Nobody wants to show off pregnancy marks, not to mention that nobody wants to see them either. What about these new fashionable structured skirts pictured in fashion magazines and on the runway? They look like coffee filters turned up-side down! Am I a clown? The plaid shirts are nice though, but who wants to run around like lumberjack all spring?

Better spring trends

The gingham is very feminine in navy blue, black, hunter green or fuchsia when it has it original small design. However, in pastels it looks like Brigid Bardot’s wedding dress! In oversize light blue or red it looks like a misprint of the Bavarian flag and a table cloths, respectively.

What will you wear this spring? Have you found already something that is a great addition to your spring wardrobe? Send me an email.
