Stay on top of fashion also on weekends to not look old

What I wore on staycation

I wore this casual outfit of boot-cut jeans with turtleneck sweater during the campus closure during the holiday break. It is quite comfy and also suitable for Casual Friday in a casual work environment like the sciences departments of a university.

Break old color rules

I like the modern feel of green plus night blue plus brown. This color combination was such a no no when I was a child. My mom would have sent me back to my wardrobe to either exchange the jeans for brown pants, or the green sweater for a winter white one. It again and again fascinates me how certain colors and/or their combinations are decade typically. Recall the bright pink with black, or pink with purple of the 80s, or the right into the face orange with brown and winter white everywhere in the 70s.

Update your color combinations for a modern vibe

Times change and so does fashion and the color combinations that feel modern. Stay on top of them to not look old-fashioned and hence old. Check the links for other ways of how I styled this green sweater, for instance, with white pants, a plaid sheath, and tartan.

How do you style a bright color like this turtleneck sweater? What do you wear when you are on a staycation? Let me know by email, I am curious.

Have a nice Friday and relaxing weekend my friends. Stay warm.
