I am very excited to introduce you to Ronen Chen who is Israel’s leading women’s fashion designer. Ronen Chen opened his first designer store RONEN CHEN 20 years ago. His designer clothes have been such a success that he now has several stores in Israel and Europe. RONEN CHEN launched an e-commerce site a couple of years ago. This means that now also women in the Americas have access to his individual style without having to travel to over the Atlantic to Israel or  Europe.

What I love about Ronen Chen’s clothes are the unique aesthetic, high quality, and well structured, clean designs (see  first photo of this post). His beautiful clothes are made for real women. They are modern and feel fashion forward and flatter all kind of body shapes and sizes, and women of any age.

The jersey dress that I chose and received courtesy to RONEN CHEN is very soft and I would not have guessed  that it is 68% viscose, 28% polyester, and 4% elastane when I had not read the label. It feels nearly like silk. Not itchy or scratchy like many non-cotton  jersey pieces felt in the late 70s when I was a child. The fabric is very high quality. The dress is well cut. I also like that this jersey dress is feeling so light on the skin. The seams are all well made and you see RONEN CHEN’s love for details.

The dress has just the right ease for feeling well dressed, able to move, comfortable and office appropriate. The around the knee length makes it feel very fashion forward. The royal blue sleeve and upper chest make the dress interesting. It is not the usual LBD. It is a head turner. I never got so many compliments before in one day than on the day I wore my RONEN CHEN dress for the first time.

I wore my new RONEN CHEN dress outside on a day with temperatures in the 70s (about 23C) and it felt very comfortable. No sweating. At the office, the AC was on and I did not feel cold either. It just has the right breath.

My mother always used to say that one can wear dresses only one way. Ronen Chen proves the contrary which documents the genius of his designs. This dress – like most of RONEN CHEN‘s pieces – is very versatile. This dress is perfect for a summer day at work with pumps and a structured bag (see above), sight seeing with brogues, in a very European way with a scarf and pearls for work (see above), with a bag, belt and cardigan for an informal meeting, for running errands with strappy flat, colored sandals and a bold colored tote,  going out (second photo from above) or an informal wedding with a long statement necklace and metallic high heel sandals to stand out of the crowd of LBDs. Since jersey is wrinkle free you can pack it easily for a weekend trip or even put it into your beach bag for a stunning outfit for drinks at the beach bar in the evening. Ronen Chen’s design of this dress also reads like an invitation for color blocking with a sunflower yellow bag and neon yellow heels (see below). I will restyle this fabulous dress soon. Thus keep an eye out.

I am very happy that RONEN CHEN offers a $20 coupon for my lovely readers. Just enter Highlatitude20 at checkout. The coupon is valid from June 20-27, 2014.
