As a child, when we would visit my grandparents, I liked to sit in the small kitchen of my grandma when she was preparing Sunday’s lunch. We talked about all kinds of stuff from science over history to fashion. Granny Hannah and I were talking about shoes one day. She was in her early seventies at that time, and her favorite shoes were pumps of the type Queen Elizabeth II wears today when she has to represent. After talking about what a nice shoe would be for her, my granny said concluded that the shoe trend she never liked were wedges. At that time, I had a pair of wedges and I really loved them as they are the most comfortable heels in my opinion. Thus, I asked why she did not like wedges. Her answer was very surprising to me. “They look like horse hoofs!” I didn’t say anything, but made sure that I would not wear my “horse hoofs” when we were visiting my grandparents. However, I am still in love with wedges. Did you have fashion talks with your granny?
Here I wore one of my pair of wedges with my Calvin Klein striped dress, a neon color statement necklace, and a black cardigan. As now I do not have to carry my pumps back and forth I can use my small bags again.
