Revisiting the classics

When in a hurry, go for a simple classic style recipe

One of my favorite outfits is denim with a chambray shirt, red blazer and leopard heels like the OOTD shown above. As you see wearing pumps in snow is not a good idea. The only reason why I do it here is to take the photo of the outfit I wear indoors at work. My photographer and I, both do not like the artificial light of flash light photos. Thus, I go through the hassle of wearing pumps in snow. These leopard pumps I found at Aldo in San Francisco.

You have seen the chambray shirt, and leopard heels in the posts at the links before in different styling.

Adjust your outerwear to the weather, but style it

The photo below shows what kind of dressy shoes are ok in fresh snow in spring. Sturdy heeled knee-high boots. Booties would fill up when you step out of your car onto a non-plowed parking lot. Parking lots are the last to be plowed after snowfall. It is obvious that at work the boots are too warm. Thus, I schlep my pumps back and forth. This habit is the reason why I always have so huge bags when going to work in winter.

Pro tip: When wearing a short coat over a skirt go for about two inch in difference with the hems so that 2 inch of skirt show. If the length of the skirt is not enough, “shorten” the length of the coat by belting it to the right difference for the best look like shown here.

Do you have a style recipe handy that you use when in a hurry? What is your go-to outfit then? Do you adjust your outerwear to the weather and outfit or only one of the two? Which is it? What are your winter/snow dressing challenges? Let me know, I am curious.
