Getting more wear out of the summer wardrobe
As long as the temperatures are above freezing I try to still wear clothing that does not yet scream winter. The winter is long enough in the subarctic. Typically, we have snow from October to end of April/early May.
I like to wear black and brown together. Thus, I picked up this cardigan when I saw it in summer. In today’s outfit I present how to wear summer items at lower temperatures.
Wear items beyond what they where designed for
Despite it was a nice sunny day, temperatures were only in the lower 40s (around 5C). To pay tribute to the nice sunshine I wore my white leather pants and shoes. To stay warm I added this printed cotton cardigan from summer and wore it as a top. The cardigan is thicker than a cotton blouse and hence provides more insulation. Since there was no wind, there was no wind chill. Thus, it was possible to just add a black wool blazer for the commute to the office. The brown belt and bag repeat the colors of the cardigan.
Sunglasses are stylish protection
The sunglasses are not just for styling. They are really needed for the commute in the morning and evening. The sun is already pretty low in the sky and one leg of my commute is towards the east in the morning and towards the west in the evening.
How do you style your neutrals? Do you wear black and brown together?
