I like the contradiction of floral and leather

Limit the adoption of trends

I typically pick one or two trends of the season that I like and that may work for me. This floral blazer is one of them. I was very skeptical when I bought it about whether I would get a lot of wear out of it. However, it was on sale and nearly a steal so I bought it. In the aftermath, I am really glad I did as I wore it more often this summer than I thought I would. Thus, the cost-per-ear now is already very low.

Never buy a heel height you can’t walk in

This was quite different with the Sam Edelman pointy toe studded flats that I am wearing in this outfit. I love their look, but I had preferred them as pumps. Unfortunately, later I found out they also exist as pumps. They just didn’t have them at Nordstrom Rack in Boulder. I just cannot walk very well in flats. My legs always get sore. This phenomenon is sort of non-explainable to me as I walk a lot bare feet or in socks at home in summer and winter, respectively.

Creative casual work outfit

This time I paired the floral blazer with a silk-cashmere short-sleeved top and my leather shorts and a Kieselstein Cord belt. I added a structured bag to look professional. This outfit works well in a creative or casual work environment.

Have you tried the floral blazer trend? How do you style it? Have you tried it with shorts for work? Let me Know, I am curious.
