I love the great polka dots with floral look

White adds crispness to a summer work outfit

Being an Alaskan white is not one of my favorite colors. May be this is due to the fact that there is a closed snow-cover from early October to late April/early May. Thus, one gets an “overdose” on white, sort of. Consequently, I prefer any color over white. Nevertheless, I have some white items in my closet as white is so stunning and crisp in any outfit. One of these pieces is a white embroidered tunic, a gift from my Indian girl friend and a polka dot white cardigan (see today’s outfit). Of course, I also have the obligatory, usual white button down shirt for business meetings that everyone has to have. Well, I have to admit I do not know what I was thinking, but I bought a white leather skirt last winter for summer as I really love leather clothing. In the OOTD, I use the crispness of white to ground the mixed print look of polka dots and florals.

Pro tip: Always ground your mixed prints with a common solid color, no matter whether they are polka dots, stripes, or floral prints.

Mixing prints: Polkas dots and floral

Here I wear said white black polka dot cardigan tucked into the leather skirt as a top and gave the look a finishing touch with a floral blazer for some pops of color. Thus, this outfit combines different pattern and colors. The golden sandals are just a neutral add-on on this summer work outfit with floral blazer.

This floral blazer is pretty versatile. See how I styled this blazer with a denim skirt.

Do you wear leather in summer? Does your office dress code allow wearing leather? What do you wear to work in summer? Let me know be email, I am curious.
