Alaska’s summer and winter temperatures differ 120F

A wardrobe in Interior Alaska must span 120F

Alaska is called the Last Frontier. Even today this name is very appropriate. Currently, it is very hot. Fairbanks even hit temperatures in the 90s (32.2oC) this week. When you think about that in less than 150 days, temperatures can be 40 below (-40oC) this means the typical Alaska wardrobe must be able to span a temperature range of about 120F (70oC). Quite a challenge.

Summer work outfit

Well here is my upper extreme outfit, a silk blouse, light gray skirt and silver heels. I wear the red bag for a pop of color. Now where is the extreme here? Look at the ground. There are many unpaved areas in Fairbanks. Thus, wearing heels needs training to walk on these areas without ruining the heels.

How much do summer and winter  temperatures differ where you live? Let me know, I am curious.
